More light output? V70-XC70

Is there a way to get more output or better lighting from a 98? I do not want to put in the PIAA bulbs but would rather a better reflector or lens. Can anyone help?

The problem with the light output is that if you are in the USA, your car was equipped with lights that meet USA DOT specifications. They are severely compromised compared to the units on cars in western Europe. You can install more powerful bulbs (try the Philips Vision Plus from http://www.autolamps-online.com/home.htm), but this will only help a little. A clear lens will also only help a bit. The USA-specified lights are lousy, there is no way around it. They are a safety hazard. You really need to install the genuine European lights. I have not found a distributor in the US, but the archives have messages from people who claim to have done it. If you are heading to Europe, but a set there and bring them home. Cost will be about $300 or more each side.

Real easy... Go with the clear lens headlights for the'03(? I think) C70.

$700 a set.

It kinda makes PIAA bulbs look like an economical alternative, eh?

Silverstar - clear (best) or with slight bluish tinge to bulb - made by Sylvannia.

More light, same life, same watts.
