Oil Filters S70

Does anyone know about the Mann oil filters. Ive heard they are the same as the original equipment Volvo filters just without the Volvo logo on them. People sell them by the case on ebay very cheaply. I was hoping someone could confirm that they are the equivalent to the filters bought at the Volvo dealer. Id buy a case. Even if anyone has an opinion on a filter they believe is better than the volvo filter id like to know. But from what I hear its best to go with the dealer filters.

    Yes MANN is the OEM for not just VOLVO S70

    but also for many Europena cars such as BMW, MB, SAAB, Porsche etc.

    Since 1960's Mann Hummel has been making Oil and AIR filters for not only Volvo but many European cars.

    is the filter for Volvo gasoline engine since 1960's!!! All these models (1800, 242, 244, 740, 940, 850 and S70/V70 ? until 1999 uses the exactly same Oil Filter).

    Personally I'd not worry so much, even a Bosch or STP filters at Pepboys aor Autozone works just fine, just too much hype about Volvo parts. I have been using Bosch and STP OF for 8 yeras; change them every 6 months and 5-6K miles. Virtually no issues.

    So OF is not my favorite topic because it makes very little difference, if any, to use Mann. If it makes you sleep better then use Mann.

    The plcae where OEM parts matter is:

    - Bosch Sp. plugs
    - Bosch alternator
    - Wahler thermostat
    - Behr radiator

    etc.

    I went to Mann's web site, and they state that their filters have all the features that the filters that they make for sutomakers have.
