Go to a thrift store and buy some .25 cent tapes. The tape player is great!

I HAVE A USA SPEC FOR MINE, JUST AS NICE IF NOT BETTER THAN ALPINE, SOUND IS AWSOME AND IT PLUGGED RIGHT IN THE BACK OF MY PREMIUM SOUND. KELLY

Your local stereo shop should have an Alpine unit that will do. It's pretty much identical to the Volvo unit, except less expensive and with a slightly different connector.

I had one added to my '96. It worked very well. They did have to run another cable from the center console, but the whole thing took less than an hour. I don't have my '96 any more, or I'd look at the model number for you. The shop I went to said "Oh, yeah, we put of lot of those in the 850."

I have one for sale. It is a new (in box) CD, Volvo original with all the cables,connections and bracket for the trunk area. I can send you pictures.
