Hello I just ran a test on my 850 because it wont start. The code it gave me was 1-4-4 (load signal from fuel inj. ecu absent) could someone let me know what exactly this means?

    code 1-4-4???????????

what it means is the ignition system is not getting info from the amm. the voltage return from the amm to the fuel ecu is how the car knows how hard it is "breathing". you didn't post a year, but the 850s have 1 brain for both jobs. could be a loose connection, bad amm, any number of things. suprised the car won't start. good luck, chuck.

ok, 93s used 2 brains and i'll bet the fuel system relay died. under the hood, by the fan. 2 red wires. a green wire and a violet wire

reason i say this is because the lh 2.4 cars have the same problem when their relay dies or glitches out. most times you just get a 144 and a light but the car runs. i have never seen this on an 850. considering the car-and relays-are 10 years old, get that 1 and the fuel pump relay, also. cheap insurance. good luck, chuck.

in the main fuse box, under the hood. pull the fuse lid, then remove the 4 screws from the panel around it. 2 rows of relays-closest to the windshield. 1 relay uses 2 spaces in the top row. next is the fuel pump relay, # 103 i think. good luck, chuck.
