SAS air leak found 850 1995

I followed the hose from the air pump to the rear of the car. It starts to run along side of the fuel line. Just past the fuel filter, I found a gash in the air hose. I presume the hose goes into the gas tank (to pressurize it?) not sure of it's function. It looks easy enough to patch with a piece of rubber and clamp, but how difficult is it to replace this long hose? I haven't as yet examined the gas tank end. Mario '95 850 turbo 140K

There are no hoses from the air pump to the rear of the car. The hose you found split is probably for the evap system. Goes to a valve mounted to the fan shroud on the drivers side. It's job is to direct fuel "vapors" up to the charcoal canister and then to the engine to be burned. I would slice out the damaged portion and repair it with vacuum hose.
