Tune Up Kit Options S70

I have a non turbo and was ordering tune up parts online when I came to a couple of options. Can you please advice what is best:

- Bourigaurd ($49) or Bosch cables ($55)?
- What type of Bosch plugs are best if I change them every 2 or 3 years. Prices ranged $1.50 each for Cooper, $2.25 for Plat, $4.XX for the top ones.

Thanks
Greg in Northern IL

I'd recommend the Bourigaurd wires over the Bosch ones. They have thicker insulation, and appear to be better quality. They are also the OEM supplier. $49 is a good price for them - where did you find this price? I've had good results with the Bosch platinum plugs, but if you changes every 2-3 years, it probably doesn't matter much if you use the copper ones.

      Ordered from FCP Groton S70

I ordered through FCP Groton (Connecticut) , great service. This is what I did:

      1. I use Bosch wires as it is OEM but I guess Bourigaurd (? spelling) is OK as well.

      2. Changed cap and rotor

      3. Spark plugs.
At 24K changed from stock to Bosch Platinum...a waste of money, same performance and same fuel mileage.
Now I am back to Bosch copper plugs $1.50/each....same performance and same fuel mileage on highway.

REMEMBER Platinum sp plugs were developed NOT for better fuel mileage but for presumably longer interval of change, making it easier to sell the cars from dealer's perspective (How about "You do not have to tune up until 100K miles" theme that you hear from Cadillac and Honda dealers.....).

So I go with Copper sp plugs and change them every 30K miles.

      4. Also changed the Timing Belt and Tensioner.
Also changed the drive belt (serpentine belt)

      5. New Fule Filter

      6. New Air Filter

      Hope this helps you.
