Check Engine came on...OBD II code P0048 V70-XC70 1999

I have a 1999 V70 AWD (non XC) and my check engine light came on Friday evening. I scanned the diagnostic code through the OBD II and got code P0048. Can anybody tell me what this code translates to? The software that came with the OBD II scanner translated it to "Unknown powertrain DTC (SAE controlled, fuel and air metering and aux...". I don't know what this really means. I don't notice any change in how the car runs, but it wasn't just a one time issue because I reset the check engine light and the light came back on about an hour later. Thanks for the help.

Post this question Volvospeed FWD Forum where the former Rich K in Faifax, now Bay 13, will help answer your question. P0048 is a generic code but I don't have my books right now.
