rim bolt pattern S70 2000

2000 s70 stock 195/60/R15

Need to know if steel rims off 97 volvo 850 wagon will fit on my volvo S70,
so I can throw some snow tires on them.
Guy gave me the steel rim size of 6J*15*43
What does this all mean? and what is the proper bolt pattern for my S70?
Need quick response. carmp@rogers.com
thanks

    rim bolt pattern 850 1996

    Hi,

6 is the rim width in inches [often referred to as 6J where the J is the code for the 'cross section' or shape of the rim], 15 is the wheel diameter in inches, and hence the tyre diameter required, 43 is the offset or inset of the wheel which is the distance in millimetres that the mounting face of the wheel is from the centre line of the rim itself. 6" rims will normally be fitted with a tyre of about 195 / 205 width.

Wheel fixing is probably by 5 bolts - I'm not familiar with S70's but it's pretty common on Volvo's and has been for ages, and the wheels should fit, but check that the wheel fixing bolts have the correct taper to match the steel wheels if you have alloy wheels originally. If the taper / wheel combination doesn't match, you could find the wheels coming loose after a few miles!

Ignore the color codes. The chart is for a set of torque sticks, which you can use with an impact wrench to limit torque to proper setting for individual cars. The color codes equate to both a size in mm and a torque setting. At the top is the recommended tightening pattern for the lug nuts.
