post repair sickness V70-XC70 2001

I just picked up my V70 from the body shop after a fender bender repair. the grill and hood were both repaired. On the way back from the shop, I noted that the clock was reading --:--, so i figured that they disconnected the battery during the repair. within a mile of the shop, i slowed down for a traffic light and the car stalled (it has never done that). i noticed that the gas gauge was pinned on empty. I limped several more blocks, stalling along the way as if out of gas, and coasted to a gas station. it only took 2 gallons and was almost full, although the gauge still says empty. i was able to limp back to my office, called the shop and they won't take responsibility for this. It is now at the local Volvo dealer and they are running diagnostics and have "multiple failure codes". It runs very rough, and alternately runs lean, then rich (according to the dealer). What could have happened at the body shop? Could a fuel sensor or module somehow been fried? Anyone have any thoughts. The car ran beautifully before the repair. 106k miles.

How did the car............. V70-XC70 2001

drive after the accident? Even if it drove poorly they are still suppose to coordinate the "complete" repair of the car. Sounds pretty shotty to me!

the "accident" was nothing more than a colleague backing into the hood in the parking lot. not more than 2mph, but enough to damage the grill and dent the hood. i drove the car for a month before the repair. thanks.

A frontal impact could have pushed the air duct back and messed up the MAF?

Did they do any arc welding on it ? Sure sounds like they fried the electronics.
