Got my ABS module repaired with Crosscountry Automotive, Ontario, Canada

Hi everyone, just a comment concerning my transaction with Chris from Crosscountry Automotive. Since I was in the neighbourhood of Toronto I gave my ABS unit to Chris to rebuild it, got it back the same day ( in 3 hours ). Back home I installed it and the ABS-TRACS lights reappeared, called Chris the next day, he told me to send the unit back to him. Two days later I received the unit and after re-installation the lights came back again. Went to Volvo to check out the codes and the dealer said I needed a ABS unit replacement.

Called Chris again, he offered me a full refund or him to buy and rebuild an old core from Volvo. I agreed to get the rebuilded core and after installation the lights finally cleared.

The ABS-TRACS system is working perfectly now and I was really surprised by the amazing service rendered by Chris. I would highly recommend him.

    .............but...???

You're saying it took the guy 3 attempts to finally get it right? That's NOT good. Besides your time, how much did he charge you?

Hi, my ABS unit was not repairable, that's why it took more than just one time. Did you read the last 3 lines of my post???? = rebuild an old core from Volvo. Chris charged 199.00$ canadian + 1 year warranty. It is a nice alternative to Vic Rocha.

STILL, you say that it took you 3Xs right? Also, do you know what "a rebuild from Volvo" IS? It's probably what you'ld get today from any Volvo dealer BUT at a lower price (no dealer parts dept mark-up). Volvo doesn't sell "remans" vs "new" as an option, today you're probably getting remans from Volvo.
Your guy either bought one used somewhere or from an aftermarket parts store that can sell them for less than a dealer.

          .............but...???

Hi again, are you just blind or stupid????? I never said he bought a rebuilded unit, i said he bought an OLD CORE from volvo (the ones that are defective) and then HE rebuilded it and sent it to me. By the way Chris honoured his warranty and for me that was the most important thing. If U want to misquote me then go right ahead............. It took him less than 10 days to get the things right and for me it was fine. Dan S.

WOW! Hostile aren't you! I've read your words but it just doesn't sound very impressive to me, my opinion.

See, I know that one simply CAN'T buy an "old core from Volvo". No Volvo dealer sells cores to anyone, Volvo gets them back. He probably got one from a junkyard.
