Need to replace for the fifth and sixth time these damm 17" Pirelli tires, any suggestions?
Yes, I know it's due to the rims but, had no choice because I didn't special order this T5.
Pot-holes, cracks in road are unavoidable and you can't buy "road hazard" coverage for these tires.

Tirerack.com, Yokohama Avid H4s, $105 each, drive nice, treadwear = 500, nuff said.

i have these and they are great. they handle well in all conditions even snow. they are unidirectional, so make sure that you rotate them from front to rear on the same side. i went to a local tire dealer & got the road hazard for them, too. paid around 500 with everthing included. good luck.

Tirerack has Kuhmos tires between $67 to $90 that will fit your rims. They aren't worth s&@! in the snow, but I got over 30k on a set that were over 30% worn when I got the car and they handled great in the dry or rain. Even if you only get 20-30K out of a set, you're only paying $300-350 every year or two. That's pretty darn cheap. Of course tires for my 1970 Volkswagen beetle were about $30 a piece but that's not exactly a fair comparison now is it?!?

Although I don't know what the standard size for a 2001 V70 T5 is, I heartily recommend the Falken Ziex XE-512s. Nice rim protector, relatively quiet for a performance tire (though I haven't yet reached the 10K mark).

I got mine through Discount Tire Direct for under $100 a piece.

As mentioned, just get some 16s from anywhere, Ebay, Tirerack, local wheel/tire store, etc. No one's forcing you to keep those wheels.

I don't get it. Somebody held a gun to your head forcing these tires and the car upon you? Sorry, not meaning to mock you, but you make it sound like you have no choice to make changes to things that are all under your control.

17" performance tires really aren't intended for daily driving.
