3-1-4 fault code in A2 850 1995

Hi guys,

Check Engine Light came on this morning: 3-1-4 fault in A2 wich is in the Haynes Repair Manual: "Camshaft position sensor signal absent or faulty"

The car drive fine otherwise ?!?!

Any suggestions?

Make sure it is not loose. Clean the connection and then reconnect it securly. The position sensor itself never (seldom) goes bad, but the wires tend to get hit when changing plug wires or timing chain.

Hi Klaus,

I cleaned the connections & cleared the fault code.
