I've been smelling an oil odor when driving with the heat on / vents open and thought it might be in part due to a clogged flame trap. Well, in removing the hoses to get at the flame trap, I discovered that the hose that connects to the flame trap connecter is broken away from the other end; the exhaust manifold/engine block (not sure).
This is a hard plastic hose, not the usual rubber feel, that runs from the flame trap connecter, under the fuel line cover, and then down to the manifold / engine block.
Anyway - it looks like a huge job just to replace the hose as I can't see a way of getting at it without taking 1/2 the engine apart. Does anybody know what's involved in replacing this hose?
Thanks!
Jarvis.
