crackling sound at start up 850 1996

just noticed this a couple days ago, lasts about 30 seconds then gone, comming from under hood. tomorrow will open hood the start up and see where its comming from. almost sounds like electrical wires crackling. any clues? only dose it at first start up of the day, usually restart the car 3 more times during day and it dosent seem to do it. thanks so much, kelly

    If the sound is coming from under the battery area, then your air pump is full of water because of a failed SAS valve.

    Drill a 1/8" hole at the lowest bottom section of the pump to allow the water to drain. Fix the SAS soon or the pump will fail and cost you $$$.

      what is a sas valve and where is it located? thanks kelly
