2000 xc question V70-XC70 2000

Happy New Year to all. Afet owning rear wheel drive volvos for the past 13 yrs. Last may I bought a used 2000 XC SE and havent had any trouble with it--that Im aware of. I have noticed that when cruising at highway speeds and if I have to accelerate hard when going around 65mph, I hear a slight bump from the right rear of the car. Was wondering what they may mean--a near future problem with all wheel drive when power is delivered to the rear wheels. Iv checked the back driveline--no leaks-all looks well--although I must say-this all wheel drive set-up is new to me. It only occurs at the 65-75 mph end. Thanks--just want to know If Im looking at a big problem soon. Thanks

First, verify that all four of your tires are the same size and make, also that the air pressure is the same in the left and right tires.
Then put your car on a lift to check for play in the axles and correct amount of fluid in the couplings. Could also be a bad bushing? Too many moving parts to do over this site.

      2000 xc question V70-XC70 2000

Volvo has a service Bulletin, that replaces Bulletin 46-0001 AWD model and it is RE:Replacing vibration damper on vicous coulping housing.
Bushing P/N # 1161436-9. It also has to do with rear axle drive, wining noise.
I own a 2000XC and had this winning noise problem. After along chase we finaly fixed it with this rubber bushing.
This could also make your clunking sound.
      Hope this helps.

        2000 xc question--thanks V70-XC70 2000

Thanks for the repsonses. I will look into the suggestions. This is my first front or all wheel drive volvo after driving 240s,740s,and 940s for years. Have heard all kinds of horror stories about the newer volvos-mostly when owner meets dealer service dept once warranty expires-but-in my case-no problems-bought the car with no warranty from a non volvo mercury dealer last june. As I did on the rear wheel drive cars-will stay on top of maint. Thanks again-
