BRR! It`s cold!!! 850 1995

Hi,
I think the Siberian Express blew in overnite & it`s darn cold today. The wife`s 855 isn`t putting a lot of heat, the air is warm but nothing like the heat in the old 240 with the 192degree thermostat(almost a blast furnace!)
Called the dealer abour replacing the thermostat but was told there is one thermostat available. One temp fits all climates?? Is this fact?
Any info/help out there? You 850 guys in the midwest must experience many of the same weather systems.
Thanks!
Freezing in southern Alberta!!
Rich

Also make sure the center vent is closed to the outside air. It was +10F this morning, it is now +2F with clear blue skies and a little wind. Forcasters suggest about -25F tonight? We like the clean Canadian air, but does it have to be so COLD?

Hi,
Thanks to all who replied!
Hey, this cold Canadian air isn`t something we enjoy either! I was feeding my cows this am & with wind chill factor the temp was -45. BRUTAL!! Could it be that the cold front is from Alaska?
Thanks again. My wife is up picking a new t-stat today.
Rich

There used to be an 87 and 90 Degree Celcius thermostat, but I believe they've gone to just one of the two, so yes, there is now only one thermostat, no matter what your climate. A properly functioning t-stat of either type will provide you will all the heat you can take. Your's sounds stuck open.

BB is right and you can get both 87 C and 90 at fcp groton. have a 95 850 turbo and just changed out the broken thermostat with a 87 C one. temp indicator now goes to 3 o'clock position in a few minutes and stays there no matter how cold it gets.

FYI: 87 degrees t-stat is for turbo engines and the 90 for the N/A engines

Your T/stat is probably stuck open. Very common fault. Replacment should cure your problem.
