I've heard Marin volvo-saab (415) 459-7178 is good. Haven't used them yet myself.
They are an independant, not a dealer.

I go to Volvo Centrum on 16th and Sanchez just off Market Street in San Francisco. Their # is (415) 863-3266. They charge $90.00 per hour for labor which seems pretty standard in this area. I have found them to be reliable and they try to save you money if they can.
I started out going to Popular Mechanix but when I needed my rear view mirror replaced A.S.A.P. was told they were "too busy". Centrum put it on for me in 10 minutes no charge no appointment--I have used them ever since.
