Replace Shift Indicator Bulb S70 1999

I am trying to replace the shift indicator bulb. I bought #2721 bulb but it seems too small for the socket. Did I get the right bulb? Or is that any trick to put the bulb into the socket?

Trying to do the same thing for a 1998. I haven't managed to figure out how you access the bulb in the first place. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Replace Shift Indicator Bulb S70 1998

I just replaced the gear shift bulb in my wife's 2000 S70 using the instruction as given on BAY13 web site. It was an easy, less than 30 minute job.

The bulb part # is 1363149 and cost approx $12 at your local Volvo dealer.

Go to: http://www.volvospeed.com/Repair/SV70console.htm

It will show you photos with instruction on how to remove the console. In fact, I didn't do the whole thing in order to take the bulb out. I just did step one and two, since my hands are pretty small, I just reach the bulb and pull it out.

All I am waiting on now is the part. I will let you know if I can put it back without removing the whole console.

Good Luck
