Dutchman S60 2001

Notice since about two months a knocking noise, only at very low speed audibe (S60 MY 2001). Had the dealer checked the links/rods (rear stab rods were replaced about year agoo), but everything okay. Suspension was not checked.
Also noticed that the rubber of the upper engine maounthas a small incise in the middle part where the rubber is very thin.

Anybody knows if that could cause the knocking noise; what is the function of such thin rubber (surrounded by the circular massive rubber) in the engine mount; Aren't there any TSB's for this??

thanks,

Dutch

I have been told that you WILL know when the upper motor mount breaks. The low speed knocking sound is apt to be one or both of the end links on the front sway bar. The easiest way to check this is to flex the sway bar with a small prybar, so that you can watch the links for freeplay.

Thanks for the reply. Can I check the sway bar play by my self? (I don't have any equipment)

      regards,

      Dutch
