Ck Engine code P0410=442 V70-XC70 1998

Hi,
My V70 check engine light is on and showing the code of P0410=442. My mechanic has checked the and confirmed the air pump is working, solenoid is okay, and vacuum is okay. Basically everything Volvo says to check is working but the light still comes on when reset. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Jimmy,

I just replaced the PAIR valve on my 98 V70 (SAS as mentioned by VOBD), and cleared the code, and it has not returned. About the correct time for 98's to have this happening, and if the pump is working, the valve is most likely the culprit. www.fcpgroton.com sells the valve, gasket, and the fasteners for this, and I paid $96 including shipping. Real easy to swap out. Do check you www.volvospeed.com for details on the repair.

SAS valve leaking or blocked CAT (if poor performance also).

Thanks,
The performance is fine and the car runs great. My mechanic also mentioned that if the code is present, the pump should run continuously, it does not. Do you think I should replace the pump first?
Thanks

Valve first and then if necessary do the pump. check out www.volvospeed.com first.
