oil smell in cabin, wheres the pcv on a turbo engine? 850 1995

Guys,

I've seen lots of posts on here regarding the oil smell in the cabin of non turbo 850's. I know there is a PCV like device called a flame trap that plugs up from time to time, and causes oil leaks. I also know that the oil fill cap leaks from time to time. WHERE IS THE PCV ON THE TURBO ENGINE?? This engine smells like hot engine oil when at a stop light, I'm assuming its the oil cap and a minor leak at the lower front end of the engine. I want to nail all of these leaks at once, and I don;t want to do it with out addressing the possibly plugged PCV. ANy help would be appreciated...

Thanks in advance,

Juan

Guys I looked at the turbo intake pipe and found the electronic PCV device not correctly seated in the warped boss. I heated it up, reseated it and sealed it up with a little RTV. I also replaced a bunch of cracked vacuum hoses and replaced the oil cap gasket. Thanks a million for all of your help!! No more smell!!

Juan

If you look near the turbo where the fresh air intake goes in. There is a valve with a power connector, an airline and bigger rubber elbow that attached to a hard plastic (maybe metal pipe) If that became disconnected or not a good connection you'll get that oil smell in your cabin. That pipe goes upto the valve over near the oil cap. That releaves pressure in your engine. Thats your pvc.
Clamp that connector and should get that smell anymore.

NO PVC NO FLAME TRAP 850 1995

Volvo did away with the valve more than 15 (fifteen) years ago . The PVC is just like old people that due "tune-ups" they don't exist it's now scheduled maintenance done by the book. what replaced the the valve is an oil seperator located behind the intake manifold that has a hose that goes to the intake. Only NA engines have a disk shaped screen called a flame trap.
