refuses to idle S70

Fellow bricksters,

I have posted a couple of times over the past week or so in regards to a 2000 S70 SE. I have since inspected the car and everything seems to be fine except for the fact that the car refuses to idle, will run super smooth when running however when engine speeds drops to about 1,000 rpm the show is over. One thing I know for sure is that has been sitting unused for a month or so with little/no use it initially started with no problems (and idled) however I turned it of after 30 seconds or so and it needed a jump start to get going again, I am also reasonably confident that the original Volvo battery is on it's way out.

I am wondering if this has anything to do with the car refusing to idle. As mentioned everything else seems to be in excellent condition with service records etc. Has anyone experienced this type of problem with their 70 series, would be very interested to find out.

Cheers

Does the check engine light come on at all? The orginal Volvo battery probably is on its way out; is there corrosion accumulating on the terminals? Since the negative has much to do with the grounding of the system, replace the battery, and clean and tighten everything, AFTER checking for and reading any codes...since replacing the battery will erase them. Yes, the throttle body could be questionable...but you usually get warning lights...

    Hope this helps,

    Chris
