Fuel Lid manual over-ride, now not locking 850

Hello,

I borrowed my wife's volvo850 wagon. It needed fuel so i tried to refuel it. I could not find a fuel-lid release so i browsed the car-manual. It mentioned a manual over-ride where I take off a plastic covering in the rear, pull a hook and the lid should be unlatched. It worked.

I got home, mentioned this to the wife. She told me it would have opened if i had unlocked the doors. Now .. as luck has it ... it seems the fuel-lid is not locking ..

Help?

footrest

Try pushing the wire you pulled , back to where it was .
i just did mine the other day and noticed it didn't go back .
I never checked the door to see if it still locks.

I pushed the wire back last night but no locking mechanism engaged when i closed the
fuel-lid. I tried locking/unlocking
the doors a few times but nothing happened.

This morning I checked again and it seems to be working properly (fuel-lid locked
when all esle is locked and unlocked
when all else is unlocked).
