Problem with Dash lights going on and off 850

Dash lights going on and off..staying off for the whole night them maybe coming back on another day and staying for several days. Currently off. Is there a wire that could be loose, a short...something that would be easy to check? Ideas?

same thing is going on with my 95 GLT 850. I find if I leave my dimming switch "just off " the all the way on it works fine. ( I do need to occasionally adjust this, but I have been getting by like this for awhile now.

I would suspect the slide switch for the dash lights. Pull the sw and check for warmth or loose wires.

Thanks. Will try to check that. I've moved the switch up and down and it didn't do anything. The lights worked again last night and didn't go on and off all evening.
