Now you have it, now you don't - reverse 850 1993

I have a misbehaving reverse on my tranny. Some days it's there, others it's not. What could it be ? Is there a switch of some kind, or faulty wiring ?

This could be your PNP switch starting to go bad. Try "rowing" your shift lever from P to L about 20 times or so. If this solves your problem, start thinking about saving for a new pnp.

My parent's 850 has the same affliction. The simple solution: Put it in (first) gear, and move it forward just a hair, the put it in rerverse, and you shouldn't have any problems. Have a splendid weekend :)
