Sometines dead V70-XC70

Every so often, after several days or weeks of starting fine, our 2000 V70 will be found in the garage with almost a dead battery and will need a jumper to start. The battery is almost new and nothing has been left on. It only happens after being left over night in the garage for a least one night. After driving it to recharge the battery, it will be fine again for who knows how long. Any ideas? Thanks Brad

I think Volvo batteries are crap. Mine died too. I bought an Interstate Megatron, arguably the best battery on the market. No problems.

Make sure the glove box closes firmly and the light shuts off. Same with the rear hatch. Then check the posts on the battery to make sure they are not loose. Remember, not all new batteries come fully charged and may need to be trickle charged for 72 hours.

Glovebox light sometimes is the culprit. V70-XC70

That has happened once for me, V70 classic -2000.
I suspect the alarm was triggered and emptied the battery. I have not found any reasonable cause, main theory is that the tail gate was not closed just barely touching the switch..

Sounds like you may need a new battery.
