What are the early signals that your ETM is going to fail? I've got two weeks left on my warranty and want to make sure that I get coverage on every possible component.

    The early signs are that the warranty HAS expired. 2001 No problem!

      My 2001 has 40K miles and is on its 3rd ETM (both replaced under warranty). The earliest signs of failure I noticed were a feeling that the accelerator and throttle were connected by a rubber band instead of a cable. Of course, neither is the case; Volvo's design replaces the old fashioned but reliable cable with an unreliable potentiometer and stepper motor connected by a local digital network.
