New Car! Yay! 850 1997

Well... I took the 850R i was looking at into my shop, and they said there were no oil leaks, the AC worked very well, and everything was perfect... except one cyl only got 50psi while the other 4 got 125. So I talked to the dealer, and he is getting a full valve job done on that cyl, to bring the pressure back up, and I signed the papers for my new car, which I will pick up on Friday!

when i get it all ready and shiny, i will post pictures... hurray!

    New Car! Yay! Something to think about 850 1997

    hotch, have you thought about what you might ADD to the valve job?

    If your brick was near needing a new timing belt (suppose it had 10,000 miles to go) you should consider a new timing belt (and if it is the car's third belt, a tensioner as well}

    My dealer would add a new belt and tensioner for the cost of parts because they have to come off anyway.

    Talk to the tech who is going to do the job.

        When you do find one, you'll love it!

        BTW - Any time I go by a lot that has used bricks, if I have time, I stop[ and look. I found this beauty at a time when I had told my wife that we would stay pat for a while and I was not looking for a car. When she sat in it she said "Oh well it IS red at least" (I'm a firefighter) the rest is history!

          Just wondering, James, how you handle the insurance costs of that many bricks.. Are they all insured?
