catalytic converter removal S70 1998

If I remove my bad catalytic converter and replace it with a piece of pipe will my check engine light stay on from the readings from my o2 sensors. Also will the car run properly. I know it will probably be a little louder.

Thanks
Dennis

BE ADVISED

It is absolutely illegal in the U.S. to remove your catalytic converter. You can be fined $25,000. Besides, your car will then produce more air pollution that more than 300 new vehicles. You will be helping kill people.

First, is ilegal in the USA to remove or tamper with the catalytic converter, since you'll become a major polluter without.

Second, the CEL light will be tripped by the rear O2 sensor.

Third, the car won't be running well, poor tuning by the ECU because of the readings of the O2 sensor, and you'll have poor gas mileage.
