Hi i see the adapter there by the ashtray, didnt they only start using obdII after 96'?

Look for the sticker under the hood. It will state if the vehicle is OBDII compliant. Manufacturers were required to use OBDII starting with 1996, but my 1995 850 turbo and some other models were OBDII compliant earlier than 1996.

OBD II was used on a number of vehicles before 96. The only Volvos in 94-95 were the 854 and 855 Turbo and N/A models.
