850 heater core removal 850 1995

The haynes book says to pull the heater core rearward (after removing securing screws) to disconnect the two heater hose connections. My connection does not want to seperate. On the 1995 is there another connection or ? that has to be disconnected. Any other suggestions? The reason for removal is a slight leak. Any history with core leakage or problems with the "O" rings that are on the two hose/pipes?

850 heater core removal 850 1995

I replaced the heater core on my '95 850 recently using the the volvospeed procedure as my guide. You can view the pictures at

or just go to the volvospeed.com wepsite and look it up in the FWD/AWD forum under "Volvospeed Useful Threads for Repairs." It does take a little force to free the fitting once you have removed the fitting screw. My O-rings were fine and the new core corrected the problem.
