Brake and Oil change question V70-XC70 1998

My Indy charged >$100 for a "mini service" (oil change and rotation).
They quoted me $400 to replace rear pads and rotors.

What is a fair price to perform the above jobs?
Who in So. Cal do you recommend?

Every so often, while applying the brakes, there is a clunking sound and I feel a force pushing up on the brake pedal.
At highway speeds, the steering wheel vibrates which I only noticed because my watch was rattling.
My ABS sensor is on and I plan on having Rocha replace it.

Are the above symptoms related to the ABS,pads & rotors?

Your wisdom and knowledge is appreciated. Thanks.

Oh, if I do my own oil change, where should I get the oil, plugs and filter from? What type of grease does the mechanic put on the filter before installation?

Thanks again.

Study this board, check out Bay 13 and do most of the work yourself, Surprisingly, some things are not that hard to do. Check out Tasca Volvo for discount OEM parts.

yeah, I believe he saw you comin'. The guys a crook. Do most of that work yourself. Check FCPGroten for your filters, plugs, etc. Good prices and fast shipping. DOn't use grease on the oil filter gasket. Dip your finger in the new oil and smear a little on the gasket. That's all you need. Victor is the man to rebuild your abs unit. Your brake symptoms can come from all components you listed. Usually a warped rotor will cause the pedel to pulsate when applying the brake. good luick

my dealer charge 160 for oil change and rotation, and also quote 400 for install hitch (300+ volvo parts), which I got 40 installed an OEM hitch(160+) by a local CapWorld shop!!!

that trigger me to do stuff myself, and then I found the previous dealer work actually had oil leaked to splash guard...

and that is right, whence you get in it, it is not that hard...
