My friend has a 94 850 wagon with a very strange noise....Noreen described it as if there was a golf ball rolling around under the floor of the car. I told her that I would take it for a drive, and the sound was as she described. I pulled up carpeting, looked under the seats to find this rolling ball. Nothing. It rolls from left to right, right to left. It is a slow roll. Seems to be in the front seat area. I think it is more marble like( I cant imagine that there is enough space for a golf ball, but Noreen has spent much more time listening to it.) I dont know if there is a space under the floor where this rolling object lives......if it was my car, it would have driven me crazy a while ago. Any ideas? Thanks

my fiend stuck his hand in the heat vent under the pass seat while i turned corners and pulled out an orange range ball!!!

Damn, I knew I shouldn't have sold that car just for that noise. May I have my orange ball back? :-)

I had the same thing it did drive me cazy. I found under the passinger seat is an area if you look real hard by the floor vent that some stuff can fall into. You don't need to remove any seats or carpet. I used an empty shop vacume with a piece hose to extract 3 jaw breaker candies. Fixed

Look in black heater ducts under seats. Try steep uphill spot to roll to rear opening. Or put car up on ramps.

If it is a golf ball you would hear the dimples as it rolls. I say your best best is to be ready with the eight iron to wack it when it comes out. Hope this helps. Hey, at least I'm addressing the question.
