Replacing oil separator this weekend: which hose clamps? S70 1998

My first go at FWD engine stuff as I have been into RWD Volvo's since '67. Just want to know the recommended hose clamps to replace the Volvo 'squeezies' that can not be reused. Want to have all parts ready to go. Working on FWD Volvo's is more like peeling an onion, layer by layer.

Replacing oil separator this weekend: which hose clamps? S70 1998

I am doing mine this weekend as well.
I checked Vadis and it does not say what size they are.
There are 4 clamps on the oil trap and two more on related hoses.
They all appear very similiar in size.
Take the new trap and buy 6 clamps close to the size of the port with a hose allowance.

I bought a new oil trap, intake gasket and ventilation tube to the cold air intake (aka PTC Nipple). What parts did you buy?

Also, check hose to the PTC for blockage as well. My ptc (the little dohicky in the cold air intake pipe by the turbo, follow the pipe from the oil trap) was plugged solid a few months ago and I had to replace it.

Let me know how yours goes or email me at rafuse_d@hotmail.com

Good luck with it.

My son's car and son-in-law got all the parts. Good idea on taking the trap to get proper hose clamp sizes. I wish I could find the smooth clamps that don't cut hoses so easily. Anyway, it should be a fun weekend------will keep you informed and maybe camera ready.
