The door ajar warning goes off in my 1993 '850 GLT when the driver's door is open, whether the key is in the ignition or not. I haven't had the car a long time, so I'm wondering if this is another Volvo idiosyncracy or whether I've just got some crossed wiring. If the latter, what can I do to correct the problem? Thanks in advance.

The nsteering lock pushes a button on the electrical portion of the ignition switch to activate the key warning. Try lubing the lock cyl and putting the key in and out quickly to loosen things up.
