I have a 98 S70 with the exact same problem. Every now and then the entire car vibrates under normal braking. It just started today and i'm thinking the warmer weather may have something to do with it.

Please let me know how you made out.

Replace the rear rotors. Is it a resonating noise maybe coming from the rear of the car. If so your whole problem is in the rear rotors. When you stop your car the transverse arms in the rear shift and the resonance throught the rotors make your car sound and feel like it is about to fall apart. I fix this problem with rear rotors, and tighten the rear transverse arms.

sounds like a good place to start. The only problem is that its not consistent
