Recently I have been having problems with my transmission. When I accelerate from a dead stop it starts to rev and moves slowly and the clunks a couple times and then it goes. It just seems like something is slipping. This only happens after the car has warmed up. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

How many miles? How many miles since flush? Is the fluid at the proper level?

78,000 miles, not sure when the last flush was, and it the level was right before and now it is fairly high. Also, now it is pretty much to the point that it won't move without almost red-lining it. I'm assuming I'll be making a trip to Aamco.

My '93 made it to 286k miles and had similar problem. Might be PNP switch but likely tranny shot.

You can try flushing if you like but after my experiance not hopefull.

78k miles doesn't seem like much for a '93 - have you had the car since new? And did you do a carfax check before buying if you got used? Just wondering if you knew the history of the car.

No, I'm actually the fourth owner of the car. The first owner was the only one that drove it. He donated it to the American Heart Association(I think that's right) to be sold for a fundraiser. The next owner was a private seller and that's who I bought the car from. I did a CARFAX report and everything was fine.
