car wont start 850 1996

my car doesnt alwanys start like when i drive it short distances and shut it off. if i let it sit for a long time like over night or for the six hours that im in school it will start. when i try to start it the car doesnt even turn over. i know that the batterie is good. my friends have some strange ideas about why its not starting. one says i need new spark plugs that other says that i Idle my car two much and that is causeing it to over heat. i think that they are both wrong. because i havent noticed any difference in preformace and if the spark plugs were bad the car would turn over. i also dont idle my car that much so i shouldnt cause the car to over heat. people have said that my PNP switch might be bad but i dont think so because they have said to try things like rowing the shifter and that will get it to start. but that hasnt worked. i have been to the volvospeed website and that hasnt helped because i still am not sure what is wrong with my car can some one please tell me what is wrong with my car and how much it will cost to fix thanks

If your cars starts OK after long trips, then I agree that a new battery is probably needed. If the battery is only storing 10V, the starter will not engage, but the radio, fan, and lights will work. If you stop at a battery store, they can check it for you. Remember, batteries only last for 5-6 years.

Not much info to go on here. Might be time for a new battery. Check that you have clean, tight battery connections.
