Making tire-wheel mounting easy 850 1994

The FWD Volvo's do not have wheel mounting studs and for me, it is difficult to get the wheels into position to bolt. I did see someone advertised a screw in stud (into a lug stud hole) that you could hang the wheel on. In my many saved nuts and bolts I found a long bolt, most likely from a 7 series that holds the axel to he frame. It fit. Beheaded it and used it. Makes life much easier. I may be the last to discover this, but if not, try it, you will like it.

On the stock hub assembly there is an alignment pin in the hub that lines up with the detent in the rim. Maybe yours is missing? I put that alignment pin at the 12 o'clock position and everything mates up fine. Sometimes grease-monkey shops leave the alignment pin off (it unscrews...) after doing a brake job thinking it's not needed anyway and the owner will never know. Never know until he goes to change the tire anyway....

Yeah, I need to look thru the piles of junk bolts I have and find one. Not havin' studs to locate the wheel is a pain for me too.
