Any way to test the Radiator Auxiliary Fan? 850 1995

Seems like my fan comes on only sometimes after driving in hot city traffic (stop and look w/ open hood, engine running). Is there a way to test it? Are both speeds testable?
These fans are NOT supposed to ever run after car is turned off, correct? (mine doesn't)
Last question: if the fan is not 100%, can that affect whether the a/c compressor comes on at all, or is it a one-way communication (a/c kicks fan on, but fan can't affect a/c directly?)

Try putting it in mode three via socket A6, if that does not do it then try it in socket A2 and see what happens.

Key on, lead in hole A6 push and release button 3 times and watch light flash. It should function test a list of things one of them being the cooling fan low speed and then high speed.
