Oil dip stick S70 1999

Hi Everyone,

I'm back, and with another question. My 99 S70 needs a new oil dip stick (old one broke at the handle) and the dealer tells me I have to have a new dip stick, tube and they have to install it. Seems Volvo has "modified" the original design and one has to buy the whole "package" at nearly $50.00 plus a modest charge to install it. I've tried to locate one at salvage yards and other secondary sources, but no luck.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thank
Wade

Had the same problem with my 1997 S70 a couple of years ago. I cleaned the dipstick and handle and superglued them together. It is fine since then.

Wade,
I have the same problem on my '98 S70. What part number did you use to order your new dipstick from the site you referenced? Thanks!

I went onto the www.volvosite.com site, got a phone # and called their 800 #. Very helpful place. I don't have a part # yet. It is being shipped & I expect it Sat or Monday.

Good Luck

Do a search on dipstick. Looks like they have the one for an 850. I'd be willing to bet it's the same as S70.
