FCP Groton e-code lenses on DOT light assemblies V70-XC70 1998

Does anybody know if the e-code lenses sold by FCP Groton (p/n 9169346 for Left Head Lamp Lens Kit, $65) will fit on the stock DOT front lamp assemblies or do I need the whole lamp assembly?

Thanks.

Yes, they should fit the US market housings.

However, they're still not the same, the "real" Volvo e-codes also have a leveling motor, the idea is to keep the beams level even with a full load.

Sorry I can't comment directly if the lenses will fit. But, I can tell you that if you want the performance of the genuine European lights, you need both the E lenses and the reflector unit (the rear housing). The DOT unit has different shaped reflectors. Also, the lights I tried from FCP were a Taiwanese manufacture and seemed rather compromised. I returned them and had a friend bring me some genuine Hella units from Sweden. Check the archives from about Oct. 2004 for more information.

Thanks.

Much as I'd like to get the full Euro headlights (I had them on my '91 Audi 200q Avant back when - high wattage bulbs with the intent of scorching the little hairs on the back of the neck of left lane dawdlers, which I think I accomplished a few times :-), the cost is a little high vs. $65/side for just the glass. I'm actually not disgusted with the stock headlights.
