Brake pads V70-XC70 2005

Looking for a recomendation for replacment brake pads for an '05 XC70. Requirements: OEM performance with a lot less brake dust. I used Rotex replacement pads on my '01 XC70 and they were very good, but I can no longer find them. Any suggestions for brands and suppliers?

    Read both of these pages:

    and

FWIW, I'm currently running on the Rofren pads sold by FCP Groton. Performance is barely better than stock, moderately less dust, but they do exhibit a very rare and brief squeal, perhaps about once a week.

I've been running these since March of this year, and have put a few thousand miles on them. I have no word on long-term rotor wear yet but, thankfully, these pads are not like EBC Green Stuff, which would have exhibited some rotor scoring by now.

You can try the Mintex pads offered by IPD and others. So far they are a little bit dustier than my personal favorite the PBR/Axxis Deluxe pads, but a LOT less dusty than OEM. Performance seems to be same as or better than those miserable, dusty OEM pads that came with my T5.

Better performance also = more wear on the rotors....I believe the OEM pads are still the best solution unless you are upgrading rotors too all the way around. My recommendation is to wax the hell out of the wheels, then all you have to do is rinse the wheels a couple of times a week...live with the dust, you're car is still brand new. Replace with upgrades all around when you need new pads (usually between 30-40K miles).

Actually the OEM pads are a real beast on rotors. I have gotten much better rotor life using PBR/Axxis pads than OEM by at least a factor of two to one, plus no dust. The same seems to hold true for our Z3 BMW.
