2K V70 Wagon Tail Light Removal V70-XC70

My folks have a 2000 V70 wagon with a bad left (Drivers) side tail light. According to the dash panel readout, it is called the position lamp. The bulb below it has no wires going into the back of the socket and has a large tab to hold and twist the socket out of the housing. The one above it (the one with the bad bulb)has wires going into the back of it and due to the body panel it is very hard (unless you have very small fingers!) to grasp the socket. Does this socket also twist to remove it from the fixture?

97Bird,

If you're still looking for an answer...I just went through the motions on our '01 V70 T5. Pop out the speaker grille, pull out the red tab on top of the speaker housing, put your finger through the hole in the body and push down on the end of the red tab inside the body. Pull the speaker out and you'll be able to reach the bulb holder. once you got it out: Looking at the bulb holder you'll see two metal contacts. These supply power to the bulb eliminating the need for wiring. Be sure to note there are a small and large tab on the bulb holder. The small tab goes on top when reinstalling. Get in touch with your inner contortionist and good luck!
