V40 Fault Code P0128 S40-V40 2000

Hi,
My wife recently took her V40 in to be smoged. It failed due to a "P0128 Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature)" error.
I replaced the thermostat and with my computer, cleared the codes. I turned of the car and then restarted it. The fault code reappeared. What else could it be???
Thank you
Bob

It may be your ETC sensor that is right below where you changed the thermostat. I have a S40 2001 and had to change mine as well. If you have a scanner that displays live data you can check the temperature. Try a laser thermometer to verify the temp.

Clean temperature sensor in the thermostat housing. Next difficult

    or, replace the sensor.
