98 S-V-70 front seats in a 96 850--will they fit? 850

Found two really nice powered front seats out of a 98 S70 that my friend wants to install in his 96 T-5 wagon. Will the power seat leads in the 98 hook up to the leads in the 850? Once source said yes, but before I spend $200 for both, I would like a confirmation from somebody on the Board. Additionally, his passenger seat is not powered. I've looked at a lot of wrecks and see the powered wiring harness coming from the passenger seat to the center console where it hooks to the harness going to the driver's side. I'm assuming if I get the harness I will be able to hook the powered passenger seat up. Right? Wrong?
Thanks in advance for any advice. Dick

    Hi Dick....

I had the opportunity to look into my car today and see what I could learn about the seat wiring harnesses. It appears that all that comes from the console are harnesses that would bring power to the seats, as well as a separate harness for seat heater power. I didn't lift up the console to see how the harnesses plug together... if you've seen wrecked cars with the consoles opened, you know better than I do, although it makes sense to me that the harnesses would just plug together. But then again, common sense and some quirks found in Volvos aren't always always common sensical.... :)
I'd be happy to measure the mounting rail bolt pattern if you're concerned about that aspect of the swap.
I had the time to check the harnesses, because my car won't start (for a change). Ran perfectly when I parked it last night, but today it just cranked. Since I don't hear the fuel pump, and it's over 90 degrees with extrememly high humidity today here in New York, I figure the best that I can do is read the rest of the Sunday papers, have a cold one (or two) and worry about it tomorrow.
