Electrical Problem 850 1995

I need help i have replaced the battery and everything but if i do not start my 850 glt everyday it dies. I have no idea what is draining the battery power i have tested the alternator and it is working. Plus when it is driven it does not die, does not bog down or anything, drives like nothing is wrong with it. So if anyone has an idea on what can be causing it please give me a hint on what i can check. It has been a real headache so any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Glove box light is a common problem w/ the 850's. The door warps and the light stays on when closed. If the car isn't driven much it will drain the battery. Try taping a penny to the inside of the door in front of the switch.

    Try reading these two posts....

Just follow "hamfisted"s advice, but bear in mind that it's possible that a small load may not make a fuse noticeably warm, but can still run the battery down overnight. In that case, you'll have to track down the culprit.

This is such a common problem in this world of electronic automotive systems, that there are a few products on the market which monitor the voltage of the battery at all times, and if it falls below a certain level (somewhere around 10.5 volts), they disconnect the battery automatically (requiring a manual "reset"), preserving enough power to start the car.

    Good luck

Do you have an amp meter? If it's killing the battery in one day you should be able to find it with an amp meter. If you don't have one you can still find the draw by feeling the fuses and see which one is warm or hot compared to the others. Do you see any interior lights on if you look for them at night? Glove box light? Trunk light? Maybe even the car alarm could be doing it. But if you feel a fuse that's obviously warmer than all the others in the fuse panel take a look at what it powers, and if possible pull that fuse overnight and see how it does.
