Evaporative emissions-valve problem? S70

I'm getting a code PO455 on a '98 S70 non turbo. Someone mentioned that it could be a valve located near the charcoal cannister. Does anyone know where to find this on the car and if this could be the problem?

Thanks,
Dave

The EVAP valve is near the top of the radiator on the drivers side, sort of near the battery. It is a rectangular shaped piece with an electrical connection & two vacuum hosed plugged into it. You may also want to check the condition of your gas cap seal. Not tightening the gas cap enough or a bad gas cap seal are common causes of P0455.

Do you know of a parts supplier that sells the EVAP valve or do I need to buy it from the dealer? I'll try the gas cap seal first though.

Thanks,
Dave

fcpgroton.com sells them for $52.00. Part #0280142300. If you have a 98 S70 and still have the original valve, youre probably due to replace it. I have the exact same car & mine just went bad a few months back.

On the 850's, this valve is located on the inside lip of the radiator with two vacuum lines running to it (purple and white I think). On the S70, it may be different but I'd look there anyway.
