Stopped by a Volvo dealer in New Jersey today just before lunchtime to pick up a new cap for my windshield washer reservoir. When I came out, I noticed a guy looking at my car. We got to chatting... turned out he was a salesman from the dealership. He asked if I'd be interested in a ride in a new car... took me about a microsecond to agree. My face must have lit up, so he threw me a set of keys and said "let's go". I looked around, not knowing which one to head for, so he pointed me to an S60R.

Red with a black interior, 300 HP, 6 speed transmission, AWD, sunroof, navigation system, 18 inch wheels, and on and on for two pages.... stickered just below $40K.

I tootled around for a couple minutes, when he said "aren't you gonna let it out"? It had all of 12 miles on the clock!!! I was driving it like it was someone else's car. He explained that it had been badly damaged during transport, and would never be sold as new... just as a demonstration model. That's an offer that you don't have to make twice!!!

Took it up into the hills of Franklin Lakes for a good 30 minutes ... :)

All I can say is if anyone has the chance to get behind the wheel of one of these beasts, jump on the opportunity.
