Bering plate

i own a 1995 volvo 850 turbo with 109,000 miles on it. i have had this creaking coming from the passanger fron side of the car. my mechanic says it is the bering plate. he gave me an estamte for $700 to fix it
so my question is: is 700 a good price for that.
